Hugo Ma, CEO of LG Colombia, spoke about the importance of AI and Mini-LED technology in televisions: "They offer maximum dynamic motion."

This September 9th was one of the most emotional moments for millions of Colombians. La Tricolor reaffirmed its qualification for the 2026 World Cup and moved into third place in the South American qualifying table. LG also unveiled a new television capable of making viewers "feel like they're in the stadium."

The South Korean home appliance company presented the LG QNED Mini-LED AI, the first 100-inch television that LG brings to Colombia, but beyond the imposing screen, EL TIEMPO spoke with Hugo Ma, CEO of the company in this country, who highlighted the importance of image quality and the role played by artificial intelligence applied to this technology, assuring that with this they intend to improve the entertainment experience.

According to Mr. Ma, one of the device's distinguishing features is the screen's ability to automatically adjust to any lighting conditions , ensuring image quality in different environments.

“One is the resolution itself under any situation. That ensures the best resolution by adjusting the pixels and also adjusting under high and low light,” explained LG’s CEO for Colombia, noting that the technology aims to “guarantee the best resolution in any situation.”

Similarly, he assured that the 100-inch LG QNED Mini-LED AI TV also incorporates a system that personalizes navigation and content based on the user's preferences.

"The other thing is platform customization based on your tastes and the content you like. This is based on your voice and changes all the menu commands that appear," the CEO noted.

In terms of sports broadcast performance, the second-generation Alpha 5 processor optimizes the response speed of each pixel, which is key for live sports.

“In the case of sports broadcasts , the most important thing is the response of the pixels and also the definition of each color. In our case, we optimize each pixel to achieve maximum dynamic motion while maintaining the original color of each image ,” Ma noted.

The executive also explained the advantages of QNED Mini-LED technology compared to other market benchmarks. “QLED is an improved version of NanoCell, which is very well-known in the market for guaranteeing original colors. But by adding brightness and also adding artificial intelligence functions, it always gives a higher resolution, and Mini LED also guarantees that, unlike white LEDs that use color filters (…), it guarantees the area that shines much brighter,” he stated.

Beyond the technical specifications, the company emphasized that these types of devices not only amplify the details of every play in a soccer game, but can also turn family gatherings into a highly immersive shared experience. Features like AI Upscaling, which improves the quality of non-4K content, or AI Sound, which automatically adjusts the audio to maintain clarity of narration, allow viewers to focus on enjoying themselves while the device does the rest.
